Priority Entry period for MYNIC’s shorter addressing (shorter suffix) option via second level domain name (2LD), will start from 9am, 1 November 2007 to 5pm, 31 December 2007.Which means that those who have registered domainname.com.my (third level) before 5pm, 26 October 2007, now can apply to register for domainname.my (second level).This is to prevent other people to register your domain name when the registration for .my domain is open to public. For me, my domain name is linuxbay.com.my and I have already submitted the application to register linuxbay.my.

If you fall in this category then you can apply to register the shorter suffix.Your application will be processed from 9 January 2008 till 29 February 2008.If your application is successful then your domain name will be registered and you can start using it on March 2008 onwards.

The new domain suffix (.my) will be open to public on March 2008 onwards and I would probably register gravin.my :). I have always wondered why mynic didn’t allow people to register .my domains from the beginning since jaring’s website domain name is Jaring.my and in addition to the thinking, why they made it possible now still remains an unsolved mystery or is it?.
